Student Data Files Chapter Automating Excel Tasks

This week we look at Chapter 10 Level 3: Automating Excel Tasks where you will learn about one another valuable and powerful Excel tool – Macros.

Macros are tools to automate Excel processes to help ensure error-free and efficient worksheets.

Use the Chapter # 10 – Videos presentation to see the videos if you prefer.

Assignment

Part A:

Read the Chapter Introduction and Case Scenario on page 606. Read it very carefully. It is important that you clearly understand what the Chapter material is all about – otherwise you will just be putting numbers in cells.

Part B:

1. Study (LEARN) the material covered in Level 3: Automating Excel Tasks on pages 647 to 661. The CH10 Level 3 Figures.xlsx file in Blackboard Lectures (Student Data Files Chapter 10) replicates all the Figures in this section so you can easily follow along with the textbook discussions.

2. PRACTICE what you learned in the first part by completing the Steps to Success: Level 3 exercise starting on page 662. The starting workbook: DailyList.xlsx needs to be downloaded from Lectures – (Student Data Files Chapter 10).

The result file Name should be 7-1- DailyList_Monday.xlsm

3. APPLY what you have learned to a new business marketing situation by completing the Level 3 Case Problem: Projected Sales and Commissions for CKG Auto on page 667 of your textbook. The starting workbook Sales.xlsx needs to be downloaded from Lectures – (Student Data Files Chapter 10)

The result file Name should be 7-2- July Sales.xlsm.xlsm
