Some suggestions for how to start and for how to write your research paper:
Begin by deciding which topic you want to pursue and essay to revise (Blink, Gilead, The Sixth Extinction).
How you revise your previous essay will depend on your approach, topic
and working thesis for the research paper. You can revise your essay to
serve as a first chapter for your research paper where you will set up
the problem or issue that you will be discussing and analyzing. So you
will use your revision of your previous essay as a set-up for the second
chapter which will emphasize your specific application of your idea. In
other words your second chapter will be about applying your idea to
your own evidence and your research paper will go from general (chapter 1
set up of issue/problem) to specific (chapter 2 application to your own
evidence). Another way to organize your research paper is to set up
your idea/problem in your introduction and then use your two chapters to
serve as applications of your idea. In this case you will revise your
previous essay to develop an application of your idea. The second
chapter of your research paper will be another application of your idea.
